I put this entry in the category of "Sports" because I've come to realize (without volunteering for this) that my new varsity sport is eating. And it's working. I'm becoming a Buddha. I feel like I woke up one day (this Saturday) and, all of the sudden, I looked like I ate a kickball. A small kickball -- one that's a little deflated -- but a kickball nonetheless.
And because of this fantastic growing that I'm doing (I'm expecting my varsity letter from the coach any day now), I am now experiencing the wonderful phenomenon of "round-ligament pain." Round-ligaments are the ones that keep your uterus from taking over your torso, kind of keeping it in one place. As baby grows, they grow. Kind of like a uterus leash.
So I feel mine most regularly in my lower right pelvic area, and it is annoying -- like a rubber band is holding my insides and if I bend the wrong way it will snap. But I gotta tell ya: when I sneeze, and I feel like my uterus might fly out my belly button, those round-ligaments are really doing their job. They hold that mother TIGHT in there! (Of course they're sore for the next ten minutes ... but at least I still have my uterus.) So that's fun.
Another update is that our ultrasound is on December 1st at Bryn Mawr Hospital! I can't wait to see what that little monkey is doing in there! (S)he sure likes to dance, I know that much. Then once we find out what it is, you can start showering me with boy or girl hand-me-downs. Yippy! :o)
So as of Saturday I'm at 17 weeks (4 months + 1 week). I'm a little off-balance, often falling into the car or falling into walls when I wasn't even moving, but overall very happy!
