As I approach the 14 week mark (Saturday), I've become a little more interested in reading pregnancy books (because these books are a little boring for the first 10+ weeks since not that much is happening yet, but get very interesting as you get farther along!). Sickness is pretty much a thing of the past, but I'm still so very tired and usually feel "nappy" by 3 PM. But this little person is getting more lovable as I read more about parenthood and what this trimester will be like.
Here's what I look like right now:
I have a little tiny belly bump that has become too large for my normal pants and has pushed me on to bigger and more maternal pants. But as some of you have already heard me say: I'm a firm believer that every woman -- pregnant or not -- should own a pair of maternity pants! They're AMAZING! They're like stylish sweatpants; you can wear them anywhere, but they're almost as comfy as pj's. A huge thanks to my neighbor, Jodi, who is lending me all her maternity pants until April. And she's much more stylish than I, so she's doing us all a favor!
I also thought of some tips that I should share with you from my own experience that can help any pregnant woman. I will write one every entry or so. (Wisdom is better when it comes over time instead of all at once.) You can save these tips for later, or use them now depending on your belly state. But I suggest you keep them in mind! They're helpful!
This week's tip: Brushing your teeth will almost definitely make you throw up during your entire 1st trimester. I have been discouraged many days by this. I clean my teeth, then they get dirty again. It's hopeless. Well, listen up ... I have four words for you: Crest Spin Brush Pro. The anti-throw-up toothbrush. It's worth the 7 bucks.
Tomorrow morning I leave for my annual road-trip with my mom to Ohio to visit Granny & Grandpa Stambaugh. Baby likes road trips, but only when there's beautiful foliage and lots of yummy snacks.
Happy Autumn, everyone!
